You should clean pillows every three months to get rid of skin cells and sweat.
For pillows labled washable:
- Liquid laundry detergent
- 1/2 cup washing soda (sodium carbonite)*
- 5 drops lavender oil
- 2 pillows
1) Add enough detergent for a full load. Set the washing machine to warm or hot.
2) Add the washing soda as the water fills, then add the lavender oil.
3) Put in two pillows, placed evenly- to keep the drum balanced- in the machine. Run the gentle cycle.
4) Insert the pillows into the dryer on low heat for a full cycle.
*Washing soda (sodium carbonite) is the key to a good clean. A box typically costs around $5
